Fastest Known Time Attempt

Fastest Known Time is a globally recognized organization that serves as the official record of… fastest known times on thru-hikes and other routes. They typically track hiking and running, but some routes can include brief use of vehicles. The SF2T thru-hike route is currently being considered for inclusion on Fastest Known Time. At the moment, I believe I might qualify as the FKT holder, which is hilarious. My title is very temporary, because someone is pretty sure they’re going to attempt a FKT of the SF2T on July 4th. I am not naming names because I haven’t gotten permission to do so from the attemptee.

This is super-exciting. More details soon. There are already a couple of FKT logs in the area, including this one of a Santa Fe Baldy ascent.

Storage Locker Assembly at the SF2T Members’ Resupply in Tres Ritos

A determined pair of volunteers are making a second attempt at assembling the storage lockers in the resupply tomorrow. The first time they were deterred by their vehicle breaking down. Huge thanks - this sort of persistence is the very acme of how the thru-hike came to be, and how it will continue to grow.

See you on the trail - or at Booth #103 at the Buffalo Thunder Expo,

Pam

PS: This newsletter is late, or so late it’s early. I’ve been in New Hampshire with my mom, who has been in the hospital almost three weeks now. She is stable and getting better, but it’s been a rollercoaster. I will be home in Santa Fe this evening, domestic air travel permitting.

PPS: Do you know of a shuttle service in Santa Fe that drives people to trailheads? Please let me know. Taos has a shuttle service like this… so surely Santa Fe has one, right?
